Tooele Valley, Utah (June 25, 2007) – Just because the professional racing teams from the AMA Superbike Championship and Plaza Cycle AMA Supermoto Challenge have put Miller Motorsports Park in their rear-view mirrors after an exciting weekend of competition in the Honda Summit of Speed, that doesn’t mean all of the stars have left town.
Actor Scott Glenn was at the track watching the final races on Sunday and decided to stay an extra day to ride his motorcycle on an Apex Trackdays. “This is the best facility of its kind that I’ve ever been to,” Glenn said. “Hands down.”
Apex is the only local, Utah-based motorcycle trackday company. Based in Layton, the staff is comprised of local club racers who race in the Honda Presents the Plaza Cycle Masters of the Mountain Series. Apex Trackdays offers track time for riders of all skill levels. They provide a safe, controlled environment for sportbike riders to test the limits of themselves and their bikes. They visit Miller Motorsports Park numerous times each year to offer motorcycle enthusiasts the chance to ride their machines in a racetrack environment.
Glenn cruised around the track on his Aprilia Tuono R 1000cc Twin, working on improving his technique. He is passionate about motorcycling, both on-track and off. “I want to, sometime within the next two years, take a trip across the United States, both ways,” he said.
Glenn said he enjoyed his outing with Apex at Miller Motorsports Park. “The atmosphere of this place is so wonderful,” he said. “Everyone’s helpful, and they’ll teach you things. This is where you want to learn.”
Glenn is known for his supporting roles in films such as The Silence of the Lambs (1991), The Hunt for Red October (1990) and Vertical Limit (2000). His next film, The Born Ultimatum, in which he acts alongside Matt Damon, is coming to theaters in August,.
